Systems Design and Positive Train Control
Utah Transit Authority
Utah Transit Authority (UTA) Light Rail Station Relocation Project, 2016-2017. Vineet was Systems Lead for the project. The construction cost for this project is around $50 million. The project will relocate the existing UTA Transit Express (TRAX) Airport Station from its current location at the southeast corner of Terminal 1 to a new location in front of the proposed new parking garage on an elevated platform adjacent to the new Gateway Building. The existing capacity and functional operation of the trackway in the existing condition need to be maintained in the relocated condition.
NCTD
Full Implementation of the Positive Train Control (PTC) System, North County Transit District (NCTD) San Diego Subdivision, San Diego, CA, 2012–2016. As senior technical advisor, Vineet was providing oversight of this project. NCTD implementation of PTC was planned as an Interoperable Electronic Train Management System (I-ETMS) compatible overlay upon the existing Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) approved Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) system.
RTD
Regional Transport District (RTD), Denver Eagle PPP Project, Denver, CO, 2010-2012. As Senior Technical Advisor, Vineet coordinated the 60% submittal for the 25 KV AC traction power substations, Overheard Catenary System (OCS), and load flow analysis. Vineet also reviewed systemwide Grounding and Bonding drawings. The RTD selected Denver Transit Partners to design, build, operate, maintain, and finance the Eagle Commuter Rail project. The project consisted of 16 stations, 23.6-mile-long, and connected Denver International Airport and Union station in Denver, CO.
SANBAG
Preliminary Engineering for Redlands Passenger Rail Project “The Back Nine”, San Bernardino, CA, 2012–2012. As Communications Lead, Vineet was responsible for providing Technical Memorandums, Plans, and Estimates for Fare Collection, Security, Public Address, and Visual Messaging Systems.
Downtown San Bernardino Passenger Rail Project, SANBAG, CA, 2011–2012. As Communications Lead, Vineet was responsible for the design of the Security system, Public Address System, and Variable Messaging System (VMS).
